We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our elementary school team, working with students in grades 3 and 4. The ideal candidate will be student-centered, creative, and skilled at building strong relationships to foster an inclusive environment where every child can thrive. In this role, you will support students with learning, behavioral, and physical disabilities by delivering individualized instruction and fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instruction and support to 3rd and 4th grade students with disabilities in both inclusive and small group settings, ensuring that each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) is implemented effectively.
• Develop and write IEPs that include appropriate academic and functional goals, accommodations, modifications, and present levels of performance.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of young learners.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, instructional support staff, and families to create a consistent and nurturing educational experience.
• Implement age-appropriate behavior management strategies that promote a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
• Regularly assess student progress toward IEP goals and use data to inform instruction and interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, IEP compliance, and required documentation.
• Participate actively in school-wide professional development, team planning, and initiatives aligned with our Professional Learning Community (PLC) model.
• Foster a culture of high expectations and encourage student engagement, curiosity, and confidence.
• Act as a resource for families and staff, offering expertise and support in special education practices and student development.

Qualifications:

• Valid Missouri teaching certificate in Special Education (Elementary level).
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with a variety of disabilities, including learning and behavioral needs.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance with state and federal laws.
• Familiarity with Standards-Based Teaching and Grading is preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues.
