Substitute School Nurse

Southern Boone School District is seeking a dependable and compassionate Substitute School Nurse to provide nursing services and support the health and well-being of students and staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license required; RN license preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Must successfully complete a background check through the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the FBI.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
• Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to student health needs and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and health services to students in accordance with school district policies and applicable regulations.
• Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate care or follow-up.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as authorized.
• Respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
• Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs.
• Support a safe and healthy school environment.

Position Requirements

Required: Active LPN license and current CPR/AED certification
Preferred: RN license
Required: Successful completion of Missouri State Highway Patrol and FBI background checks
