| Description | Southern Boone High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-centered Head Girls Golf Coach to lead and develop our high school girls golf program. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a competitive program that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and academic success. The Head Coach will foster a positive and inclusive team culture while promoting integrity and respect both on and off the course.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the high school girls golf program.
- Develop and implement practice plans that focus on fundamental skills, course strategy, rules knowledge, strength and conditioning, and mental preparation.
- Coordinate and supervise team practices, matches, tournaments, and off-season development opportunities.
- Teach proper golf techniques, etiquette, and sportsmanship consistent with MSHSAA guidelines.
- Monitor and support the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, leadership, and respect.
- Organize team travel, equipment management, uniforms, and inventory.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, administration, faculty, and community stakeholders.
- Collaborate with athletic department staff to ensure compliance with district and state athletic association policies.
- Participate in coaches’ meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Assist with program promotion, recruitment, and community engagement efforts.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience in golf (high school experience preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and competitive strategy.
- Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to promoting academic achievement and character development.
- Must meet all district and MSHSAA coaching certification requirements.
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
