Assistant Football Coach

Southern Boone High School is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Football Coach to join our high school athletic program for the 2026-27 school year. This position supports the Head Football Coach in building a competitive, positive, and student-centered football experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the planning and implementation of practices and game strategies
  
  
• Supporting the development of student-athletes’ skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  
  
• Supervising players during practices, games, meetings, and travel
  
  
• Promoting academic success, character development, and positive behavior
  
  
• Assisting with equipment management, field preparation, and program needs
  
  
• Upholding school, district, and MSHSAA policies and expectations
  
  

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of football fundamentals and coaching techniques
  
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, students, and families
  
  
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  
  
• Previous coaching experience preferred but not required
  
  
• Must meet all district and MSHSAA coaching requirements
