Head Boys Basketball Coach

Southern Boone Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head Boys Basketball Coach to lead our middle school basketball program. The Head Coach is responsible for developing a positive, skill-focused, and student-centered athletic experience that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning, organizing, and leading all practices and games
• Teaching fundamental basketball skills and age-appropriate strategies
• Creating a positive team culture that supports sportsmanship, effort, and respect
• Supervising student-athletes during practices, games, and travel
• Communicating effectively with athletes, families, and school staff
• Managing equipment, uniforms, and practice facilities
• Supporting academic expectations and positive behavior of student-athletes
• Ensuring compliance with school, district, and MSHSAA policies

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and middle school–level coaching strategies
• Ability to work effectively with middle school students
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Previous coaching or playing experience preferred
• Must meet all district and MSHSAA coaching requirements
