Southern Boone High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Bass Fishing Coach/Sponsor. This position supports student participation in competitive bass fishing while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and responsible outdoor practices.
Position Summary
The Bass Fishing Coach/Sponsor is responsible for organizing, supervising, and coaching the high school bass fishing team. This role includes providing instruction on fishing techniques, safety, tournament preparation, and representing Southern Boone High School at events in a positive and professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and supervise bass fishing practices and competitions

Coach and mentor students in fishing skills, strategy, and sportsmanship

Ensure student safety and adherence to school district policies and procedures

Coordinate tournament schedules, transportation, and communication with parents and administrators

Maintain compliance with state activities association rules and regulations

Promote academic eligibility and positive behavior among team members

Serve as a positive role model and uphold the values of Southern Boone School District
Qualifications

Knowledge of bass fishing techniques, equipment, and tournament formats

Ability to work effectively with high school students

Strong communication and organizational skills

Willingness to complete required background checks and district training

Prior coaching or fishing experience preferred (but not required)
Terms of Employment

Stipend position, contingent upon board approval
