Position: High School Girls Softball Coach
Reports To: Activities Director / Building Principal
Position Type: Extra Duty / Coaching Stipend

Summary:
Southern Boone High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Girls Softball Coach to lead our high school softball program. The ideal candidate will promote a positive team culture, emphasize sportsmanship and academic success, and help student-athletes develop their skills both on and off the field.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the high school girls softball program.

• Teach fundamental and advanced softball skills, strategies, and game management.

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment focused on teamwork and growth.

• Oversee player eligibility, equipment, scheduling, and communication with parents and administration.

• Coordinate with assistant coaches, athletic trainers, and other staff to support student-athlete well-being.

• Model and promote high standards of conduct, ethics, and sportsmanship.

• Coordinate game and practice logistics, including setup, equipment, and travel arrangements.

• Ensuring compliance with school, district, and MSHSAA (Missouri State High School Activities Association) policies and guidelines.

• Support off-season training, conditioning, and player development.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience preferred (softball or other interscholastic sports).

• Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, and game strategies.

• Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes in a positive manner.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Must meet MSHSAA coaching requirements and district hiring standards.
