Southern Boone High School is taking applications for a Spanish/Physical Education (Aerobics) Teacher for the High School (grades 9–12). This position involves teaching both Spanish and Physical Education with an emphasis on aerobics. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish and Physical Education (aerobics-focused) curriculum to high school students (grades 9–12).
- Develop engaging and age-appropriate lessons that promote Spanish language proficiency, cultural awareness, and physical fitness.
- Lead aerobic fitness sessions that support cardiovascular health, flexibility, and student well-being.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes both academic and physical development.
- Monitor and assess student progress through individual and group activities, providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and student outcomes as part of a Professional Learning Community.
- Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
- Provide individualized support to students as needed to ensure equitable access to all curriculum components.
- Support extracurricular activities or wellness initiatives, if applicable.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices and remain current with educational trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Valid state certification (or eligibility) in Spanish and/or Physical Education.
- Fluency in Spanish and the ability to teach language and culture effectively.
- Experience or interest in leading aerobic fitness instruction for teens.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
