Description | Southern Boone Elementary School is looking for a 3rd Grade Teacher to join our team. The 3rd Grade Teacher will be responsible for creating a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for students in third grade. This role involves teaching foundational academic skills, encouraging emotional and social development, and ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met in an inclusive and supportive classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support the growth of literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and social-emotional skills.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where students feel valued, confident, and excited to learn.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a sense of community.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and tools to engage students in active learning and creative problem-solving.
- Proficient in consistently recording, tracking, and analyzing student performance data to identify trends, monitor progress, and adjust instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Encourage positive behaviors, including cooperation, respect, responsibility, and self-regulation.
- Manage classroom routines, such as daily schedules, transitions, and activities, in an organized and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to ensure the academic and emotional development of students.
- Attend professional development sessions and stay current with the latest teaching strategies and educational trends.
- Maintain student records, including attendance, academic progress, and behavioral notes, in accordance with school policies.
- Participate in school events, such as parent-teacher conferences, school assemblies, and community activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (1-6) or related field.
- Previous teaching experience in a 3rd grade or elementary school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and parents.
- A passion for working with children and fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
