Southern Boone High School is excited to announce an opening for a Business Teacher. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students and elevate our Business Department to new heights. This role may also include overseeing the Yearbook class, so applicants should have experience leading students through that process or similar project leadership.

In this position, the selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and organizing engaging and effective lessons for students. The teacher will also be tasked with updating and refining curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement.

Our school follows the Professional Learning Community (PLC) model, and we are looking for a candidate who shares our commitment to excellence in education. The ideal applicant will have a collaborative mindset, be adept at analyzing student data, and be capable of implementing targeted interventions to support student growth based on data and best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, engaging instruction to students in the Business curriculum.
  • Lead the Yearbook class (if applicable), guiding students through the yearbook creation process.
  • Develop, update, and refine lesson plans and instructional strategies.
  • Create a learning environment that promotes meaningful student engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student achievement and implement best practices.
  • Analyze student performance data and use insights to adjust instruction and support student growth.
  • The position has the potential to include business and FACS classes; while FACS experience is desired, it is not required. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Education or a related field.
  • Valid state certification (or eligibility) in Business Education and/or FACS.
  • Experience with yearbook creation and student-led projects.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to drive instructional decisions.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
