The Southern Boone County R-1 School District is looking to fill the position of PE/Weight Training Teacher and Head Football Coach at the High School level (grades 9-12). The ideal candidate will hold the appropriate certification and be passionate about supporting student development in both physical education and athletics. You will guide and mentor student-athletes, focusing on the development of their skills, strategies, and techniques to prepare them for competitive athletic performance. Your role will be essential in fostering a love for the sport and encouraging student-athletes to excel both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach high school football athletes, teaching game strategies, techniques, and teamwork.
- Motivate and inspire student-athletes to appreciate the sport and strive for excellence.
- Lead football training sessions, including weight training, skill drills, and tactical exercises.
- Cultivate a positive, supportive environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students to ensure a cohesive team environment.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Physical Education for grades 9-12
- Experience coaching football at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of football rules, regulations, strategies, and coaching techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide student-athletes.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
- A passion for both teaching physical education and coaching student-athletes.
